We are seeking an experienced Project Executive (Principal In Charge) to join our new Higher Education and Research Studio. A Project Executive (PX) is responsible for providing leadership to the project team as well as developing and cultivating client relationships- both existing and new. We are looking for a leader that will continue to grow our design excellence within the LWP Market, as well as develop the partnerships and relationships we have with our clients. Our projects cover a variety of work such as large-scale mixed-use, office, multi-family residential, and workplace to name a few.


  • The position includes high-level client, pursuit, relationship, and project leadership responsibilities.
  • Thisindividual would lead pursuits for specific projects, develop strategic project teams, collaborate with market PXs,support staff in the development of proposal content (project schedule, work plan/approach), and developand participate in shortlist project selection interviews.
  • The growth of the business network should be focused on identifying and positioning the firm for new opportunities which are consistent with the firm's strategic marketing and business plan.
  • Provide senior-level planning, programming, design, technicaland/or management leadership, and direction for the execution of significant higher education, research, and health scienceslaboratoryprojects.
  • Support the implementation of the business development activities for the annual tactical plan, for the Firm's LWPMarket.
  • Collect and provide research, forecasts, and trends of the industry to assist the Executive Vice President during the development of the annual strategic marketing and business planning process for the firm's LWPmarket.
  • This Individual will lead by example, and act as a mentor and coach to junior-level team members while fostering an environment of mutual respect and trust among senior-level team members.
  • Collaborate with both the Firmwide LWPPractice and the local Gresham Smith offices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Architecture Degree from a 5-year accredited university or a 4-year degree with a Master of Architecture.Current architectural registration and strong design skills arepreferred.
  • A minimum of 10years of experience focused on a combination of LWPbusiness development, client management, project design, and management is required.
  • Must havecurrent relationships witharchitectural industry professionals, Higher Education clientele, and commercialprofessionals who can providereferences regarding both technical and behavioral management capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing and business development practicesand principles. Advanced knowledge in strategic and business planning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of supervisory practices and enforcement of standard policies and procedures of a firm. Must possess strong leadership, mentoring, and people development skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, good public speaking ability, strong project financial management skills, knowledge of production support systems, and personal computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of standard operations, policies, and procedures of a professional services AE firm.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel for project assignments.
