Administrative:

The Clinic Director is a member of the leadership team of the MFT master's program, working closely with the Program Co-Directors and the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations (ADCO). The administrative responsibilities of the Clinic Director of the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center (LFTC) include oversight of clinical operations, clinical management, and creating clinical policy as needed. The Clinic Director will office out of the LFTC during regular work hours.

The Clinic Director oversees operations focused on the clinical schedule, clinical paperwork, and clinic resources. The Clinical Director works with the ADCO and Graduate Assistants to promote the LFTC in the community developing strategic partnerships. In addition, the Clinic Director stays current with Federal and State laws, relevant accreditation information, and leads the annual security audit.

The Clinic Director leads and oversees clinical orientation for student interns and supervisors, addresses clinical issues that arise at the LFTC, and tracks student clinical progress with varied metrics.

Teach:

  • 12 Month contract
  • 30 hours with 6 hours release
  • Supervision courses are primary teaching role, content course teaching possible
  • Live supervision above and beyond teaching roles

Research:

  • The Clinic Director is expected to maintain a program of research.

Service:

  • The Clinic Director is expected to serve the university and/or the profession and/or the community.

Faculty Expectations:

  • Contribute to weekly program meeting with faculty and staff
  • Maintain program of research or scholarly activity
  • Maintain clinical practice

Professional Development:

  • Program Leadership, Faculty, and Supervisors are expected to keep current in their professional development, training, and learning relevant to their given role in the MFT program taking into consideration both in person and online methods of pedagogy, therapy, and supervision.

Credentials:

  • Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy (from COAMFTE accredited program preferred) or closely related field
  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor (or Approved supervisor candidate) or meet COAMFTE criteria for supervisor sufficiency
  • Clinical Fellow or Pre-Clinical Fellow of AAMFT
  • Licensed as LMFT or license eligible in Tennessee
