American Renal Associates, a national provider of quality dialysis services, is experiencing rapid growth and we are searching for the right individuals to help continue our superb performance. We are currently accepting applications for the following remote position.

Manager of Payor Contracting

The Manager of Payor Contracting ensures consistent management of all proposals and contracts. This includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and document management. The Manager of Payor Contracting collaborates closely with various departments, such as Account Management, Business Operations and Finance in the contract development process.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee organizational contract development and management activities and uphold organizational principles of integrity and compliance.
  2. Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained.
  3. Develop standards for contracts, including presentation of payment terms, general language, and provisions.
  4. Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables.
  5. Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations.
  6. Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments.
  7. Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations.
  8. Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the organization's financial performance.
  9. Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues.
  10. Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution.
  11. Oversee the day-to-day function of the Contract Management department (managed care department) and ensure the quality and timeliness of team performance.

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred. Advanced degree desirable.

- 3-5 years of prior experience in a managed care contract management role required.

- Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses.

- Experience in applying organizational standards when developing requests for proposals, negotiating terms, and drafting contracts.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications required.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

- Ability to utilize tactful and professional written and oral communication skills.

- Prior experience in a supervisory role, with the demonstrated ability to train and develop staff, applying applicable knowledge and experience.
