The IT Business Analyst will provide expertise in using, supporting, and developing the business software at Highwoods. The analyst will work closely with Business Systems staff to ensure user requirements are met and Business Systems are properly maintained. The analyst will also work closely with the user community and staff to coordinate software support and develop technical specifications for enhancements. The analyst will assist in maintaining, testing, and developing applications that will enhance Highwoods' business processes.

Work Performed

  • Serve as a technical resource for the Business Systems group and IT support staff.
  • Work with other departments on developing systems to enhance Highwoods' business processes.
  • Respond to inquiries from users and first-line support personnel regarding the functionality of software and issue resolution.
  • Develop technical change/enhancement specifications that can be used to develop and implement changes.
  • Coordinate security maintenance where applicable.
  • Assist with the implementation of new packages from a technical and functional standpoint.
  • On an ongoing basis, oversee support of the end user community on business systems, providing escalation where appropriate.
  • Provide testing and QA support to Developers for custom application code changes.
  • Create and maintain technical and functional application documentation, QA test scripts, training documentation, and project management documentation.
  • Coordinate rollout of product updates and enhancements.
  • Interface with software vendors to get end-user issues resolved where applicable.
  • Develop, test, and deliver custom business reports using enterprise report writing software.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent personal/customer service skills.
  • Analytical skills are essential. Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to leverage MS Access, MS Excel, or other similar tools to complete data analysis projects is required.
  • Real estate-specific software experience with industry knowledge a plus ( JDE, Yardi, MRI)
  • Experience implementing and managing the following systems is a plus: Salesforce (or similar CRM system), Nexus Payables, SharePoint, VersaPay, and any report development software.
  • Ability to use SQL query language a plus

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree required, IT designation preferred. A comparable combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Five to seven years of relevant IT experience is required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
